As regards the origin of the name Sciacca, it is thought that it is derived from its Arabic rule.
Sciacca is a municipality in Sicily in the province of Agrigento, a maritime city of great beauty, Sciacca has a richness of monuments, churches and is publicly renowned for several reasons, such as the Carnevale and for its work with ceramics.
During the summer it is one of western Sicily’s most beautiful seaside resort locations, with many enchanting beaches and emerald waters where one can relax and have fun.
It has a very beautiful old town center, located in the high area of Sciacca, with three central roads: Via Vittorio Emanuele is where the town hall is located, and a large square called Scandaliato which overlooks the shoreline, on the left we can see the (Scala dei Turchi which is a rocky cliff rising sharply out of the sea along the coast between Realmonte and Porto Empedocle), centrally beneath us we can see the fishing port, which is one of the biggest marinas in Italy, and on the right we can see the far reaches of the Capo San Marco point where from which a number of beaches start to appear.
